Congress Lake Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Hartville, Ohio.
Although The Club dates to 1896, the golf course was originally established in 1919 and was designed by Wille Park Jr. Park's 18th was the only hole unchanged by the course's second designer, Donald Ross.
Ross designed the current layout in 1926 and used the natural contours of the land to dictate how the championship course should be played. Large oak trees line the lush bentgrass fairways and small undulating greens that are signature features of a Donald Ross course. Views of the lake can be observed when playing the front nine holes. It is playable for the novice, yet challenging for the advanced player, making it unique and memorable.
Depending on the publication and year, Congress Lake’s golf course can be found ranked among the best in the country, and certainly in Ohio.
